Lake Casa Blanca International State Park is a 525-acre park situated on the shores of the 1,680-acre Lake Casa Blanca in Laredo, Texas, just a few miles east of the Mexican border. The park offers a variety of outdoor activities and amenities, making it a popular destination for families and nature enthusiasts.
Things to Do:
- Water Activities: Enjoy swimming at designated areas, boating, water skiing, and jet skiing on the lake. A boat ramp is available for easy access. You can rent boating supplies, kayaks, tubes, and paddle boats nearby.
- Fishing: Lake Casa Blanca is known for its year-round fishing opportunities. Anglers can try to catch largemouth bass, hybrid striped bass, crappie, carp, and catfish. There is a fishing pier available, and the park even loans out fishing gear. Note that a fishing license is required for fishing in Texas public waters, but not within Texas state parks.
- Hiking and Biking: Explore over 8 miles of trails suitable for both hiking and mountain biking. The trails range from easy to moderate difficulty, offering scenic views and opportunities for wildlife viewing. Don't miss the Roadrunner Trail leading to the dam, where you can witness the emergence of a Mexican free-tailed bat colony at dusk.
- Picnicking: Numerous picnic areas are available throughout the park for a relaxing meal outdoors. You can also reserve picnic pavilions for larger gatherings.

Camping:
Lake Casa Blanca International State Park offers several camping options:
- Campsites with Water and Electricity: There are 55 such sites available, accommodating up to 8 people per site.
- Full Hookup Campsites: 11 sites offer water, sewer, and electric hookups, also accommodating up to 8 people.
- Group Campsite: A non-developed group site is available for larger groups (up to 100 people).
All campsites are equipped with a picnic table and a fire ring with a grill. Restrooms with showers are located nearby. Reservations for campsites can be made online up to 5 months in advance.
Fees and Hours:
- Day Use Fee: $4 per day for adults (13 and older). $5 per day on Easter Sunday. Children 12 and under are free.
- Camping Fees: Range from $18 to $21 per night, in addition to the daily entrance fee.
- Park Hours: Open daily from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
