The nearest airport is Malargüe Airport (LGS), with limited commercial flights. Bus services operate from Mendoza and Malargüe to the resort during the ski season.

The resort was developed starting in the late 1970s and officially opened in 1983. Its purpose was to leverage the region's significant snowfall and challenging terrain for international ski tourism. For photography, early morning light (approximately 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM) and late afternoon light (approximately 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM) provide optimal illumination on the eastern-facing slopes. There are no tide requirements.
