Historical & Ecological Origin
According to the Varaha Purana, this is the site where Lord Vishnu took the form of Varaha (a boar) to rescue the Earth (Prithvi) from the demon Hiranyaksha. The site is geographically significant as it sits where the Sapta Koshi river exits the Himalayan foothills and enters the Terai plains.
Key Highlights & Activities

Confluence Bathing: Devotees believe that bathing at the junction of the Koka and Koshi rivers washes away sins and grants salvation.

Facts & Legends
A verified geological feature is the presence of ancient fossils in the riverbed, similar to the Shaligrams found in the Kali Gandaki. Legend holds that the Lord, after killing the demon, rested at this spot, making the entire area "holy ground." It is technically one of the oldest recorded pilgrimage sites in the Puranas.
