Campuestohan Highland Resort is a 5-hectare mountain destination located on the borders of Bacolod City and Talisay City. Situated approximately 800 meters above sea level on the slopes of Mt. Makawiwili, it is known for its cool climate, diverse recreational facilities, and quirky, themed architecture.

Visual Characteristics

The resort features a wide array of whimsical structures, including giant statues of superheroes, animals, and mythological creatures. Accommodations range from log cabins and teepees to unique "Bonita Huts" (resembling Hobbit holes). The landscape is characterized by rolling green hills, manicured gardens, and multiple outdoor swimming pools, often enveloped in mountain mist.

Location & Access Logistics

Address: Sitio Campuestohan, Brgy. Cabatangan, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

Access: Approximately 22 kilometers (45–60 minute drive) from Bacolod City.

Transport: Reachable via private vehicle, taxi, or "Grab." Shuttle services are often available from the resort's office at Villa Angela, Bacolod. The road is steep and winding but paved.

Operating Hours: 07:00–18:00 daily for day tour visitors.

Fees: Entrance fee is PHP 250 per person (includes use of swimming pools and playground). Rides and specific activities carry separate charges.

Historical & Ecological Origin

Developed by the Cano family and opened in 2012, the resort transformed a rugged highland area into a major tourist attraction. Its elevation provides a natural cooling effect, with temperatures significantly lower than in the lowlands. The resort is situated within a lush forest zone, offering views of the Panay Gulf and the surrounding mountain ranges.

Key Highlights & Activities

Shark Wave Pool: A large swimming facility that generates artificial waves.

Adventure Rides: Includes a 340-meter zipline, sky bicycle (rope cycling), hamster wheel, and horseback riding.

Themed Areas: Features the "Kung Fu Panda" area, Justice League statues, and a massive King Kong structure that occasionally "roars."

Hanging Bridge: A suspension bridge offering views of the resort’s forest trails.

Spa Village: A dedicated area for relaxation and wellness treatments.

Infrastructure & Amenities

Facilities: Includes a restaurant, coffee shop, souvenir store, function halls, and varied overnight accommodations.

Connectivity: 4G/5G signals are available but can be intermittent in certain shaded areas of the resort.

Parking: Extensive paved parking is available at the entrance.

Best Time to Visit

Weekdays are ideal for avoiding large crowds. Early morning visits allow for experiencing the mountain fog and cooler temperatures. The dry season (December to May) is preferred for outdoor rides, although the resort is popular year-round for its cool climate.

Facts & Legends

A logistical fact is that the resort can accommodate hundreds of visitors simultaneously across its various zones. It has become a landmark of "agri-tourism" in Negros Occidental, successfully repurposing highland territory for large-scale recreation.
