Dhampus Village is a traditional Gurung settlement situated on a prominent ridge north of the Pokhara Valley at an altitude of approximately 1,650 meters. It serves as the primary gateway for treks into the Annapurna Conservation Area, specifically the Mardi Himal and Annapurna Base Camp routes.

Road Access: A dirt road connects Hemja directly to the village. Jeeps or private four-wheel-drive vehicles can reach the village center in approximately 1 to 1.5 hours from Pokhara.

Alternative Route: Access via Kande (higher elevation start point), followed by a 1.5-hour hike to Australian Camp and a 1-hour descent to Dhampus.

Originally a vital trading hub for the Gurung and Magar ethnic groups, Dhampus has evolved into a key eco-tourism destination. Geologically, it sits on a ridge that divides the Seti River and Modi Khola watersheds.
