Ligñon Hill Nature Park is a 156-meter-high volcanic cinder cone located in Legazpi City, Albay. It serves as one of the primary recreational areas in the province, offering a 360-degree view of the Albay Gulf, Legazpi City, and the Mayon Volcano.

The hill is characterized by a winding, steep paved road leading to a circular summit plateau. The peak features a viewing deck, landscaped gardens, and various adventure facilities. At night, the hill is illuminated and visible from most parts of downtown Legazpi.
Location & Access Logistics
The park is situated along the Daraga - Legazpi City - Tiwi Road in Barangay 41 Bogtong.
Access: It is located directly across from the old Legazpi Airport.
Transport: Reachable via tricycle or jeepney from Legazpi or Daraga. Visitors can choose to walk up the steep access road for exercise or pay for a shuttle or private vehicle to reach the summit.
Operating Hours: 05:00 to 21:00 daily.
Fees: A small environmental fee is charged at the entrance.
Historical & Ecological Origin
Geologically, Ligñon Hill is a "cinder cone," a small volcano formed by basaltic fragments from past eruptions. During World War II, the hill served as a strategic lookout and a stronghold for Japanese forces. A Japanese-built tunnel remains on the hill and is open to the public as a historical attraction.

The early morning (05:00–07:00) is the most popular time for joggers and those wishing to see Mayon without cloud cover. The evening is ideal for viewing the city lights of Legazpi and Daraga.

A logistical fact is that the road up the hill is strictly one-way for vehicles during peak hours to manage the steep grade and narrow turns. Historically, the hill was a vital site for the US-Philippine liberation forces during the Battle of Legazpi.
