Manjushree Park is a public recreational and historical site located on the Chobhar ridge, approximately 9 kilometers southwest of central Kathmandu. It is situated directly above the Chobhar Gorge, the geological exit point for the Kathmandu Valley's river system.

The park features terraced gardens, stone-paved walkways, and multiple viewpoints overlooking the Bagmati River and the Himalayas. The central landmark is a massive bronze statue of the Bodhisattva Manjushri. The terrain is characterized by steep limestone cliffs and integrated access points to one of Nepal's largest cave systems.

Historical & Mythological Origin
The park is dedicated to Manjushri, who, according to the Swayambhu Purana, drained the ancient Nagdaha lake to create the Kathmandu Valley. The site is geographically significant as the location of the limestone breach that allowed the water to exit.
