The site features a 1.5-kilometer paved pedestrian walkway bordering the Basilan Strait. The architecture consists of open-air food kiosks with thatched roofing, landscaped green spaces with palm trees, and a central musical fountain. The coastal edge is reinforced with stone breakwaters and metal railings, providing unobstructed views of the Great Santa Cruz Island and local vinta sailboats.

Location & Access Logistics

The landmark is situated on N.S. Valderrosa Street, immediately west of Fort Pilar and 1 kilometer south of the city center. Access is available via tricycles or jeepneys on "Pueblo" or "Canelar" routes. A dedicated parking lot for private vehicles is located at the northern entrance near the Santa Cruz Island ferry terminal.

Opened in 2009, the promenade was developed by the local government to revitalize the city's waterfront and provide a secure public space following the relocation of informal settlements. A local tip for visitors is that this location offers the best vantage point for the Regatta de Zamboanga (vinta race) during the Zamboanga Hermosa Festival in October. Historically, the area served as a crucial logistical port during the Spanish colonial era because of its strategic proximity to the bastions of Fort Pilar.
