Facts & Legends
Local tradition suggests that a secret tunnel once connected the altar of the church to the bank of the Bistrița River to allow the princely family to escape during invasions. Historically, it is confirmed that the church was used as a defensive stronghold due to its thick walls and strategic position overlooking the river valley.
