Visual Characteristics
The Fox Theatre is a Moorish Revival style building constructed primarily of brick and concrete. Its exterior features elaborate terracotta ornamentation, including minarets, arches, and intricate carvings. The main auditorium interior is designed to resemble a desert courtyard, with a domed ceiling depicting a starry night sky, faux palm trees, and Egyptian-inspired motifs. The seating capacity is approximately 4,600.

The Fox Theatre is situated at 660 Peachtree Street NE, Atlanta, GA 30308, approximately 1.5 miles north of the downtown core. Public transportation is readily available via the MARTA Red and Gold lines, with the North Avenue station located within a 5-minute walk. Limited paid parking is available in adjacent lots and garages. Street parking is also available but often restricted.
Historical & Ecological Origin
Originally conceived as a Shriners' mosque, construction began in 1928. The building's design was overseen by architect P. Thornton Marye. Financial difficulties led to the project being halted, and the building was eventually leased to William Fox of Fox Theatres in 1929. It opened as a movie palace in 1930 and was later converted for live performances.
