The primary viewing deck is elevated, offering unobstructed panoramic views. The structure stands approximately 20 meters in height.

Location & Access Logistics

The observatory is located 5 kilometers west of Hatta town center. Access is via Hatta Dam Road (E44), turning onto an unpaved access track approximately 1 kilometer before the Hatta Dam. Limited unpaved parking is available at the base of the observatory. No public transport directly serves the observatory; private vehicles are required.

Historical & Ecological Origin

The Hatta 360 Observatory was constructed in 2018 as part of Hatta's tourism development initiatives. Its purpose is to provide visitors with elevated vantage points of the Hatta region's geological features and landscape. The surrounding area is characterized by the Hajar Mountains, formed by ophiolite sequences dating back millions of years.

Key Highlights & Activities

Observation of the Hatta landscape from the elevated platform. Photography of the Hajar Mountains and surrounding valleys. Walking the short path from the parking area to the observatory base.

Infrastructure & Amenities

No restrooms or shade structures are present at the observatory site. Cell phone signal (4G/5G) is generally available. No food vendors are located at the observatory; visitors should bring provisions.

Best Time to Visit

For optimal lighting conditions for photography, visit during the early morning (07:00-09:00) or late afternoon (16:00-18:00) when the sun angle is lower. The months of October through April offer the most temperate weather conditions, with daytime temperatures ranging from 20-30 degrees Celsius.

Facts & Legends

The observatory's design is intended to mimic a natural rock formation, integrating it into the mountainous terrain. Local folklore speaks of ancient trade routes passing through these mountains, with the observatory's position offering a vantage point similar to that used by historical watchmen.
