Public transport options are limited; bus line L2 runs to El Pilar de la Mola, from which a further walk or taxi is required.

Construction of La Mola Lighthouse commenced in 1861 and was completed in 1865. It was built under the direction of engineer Emili Pou y Bonet. Its original purpose was to guide maritime traffic in the Mediterranean Sea, particularly around the eastern approaches to Formentera and Ibiza.

Facts & Legends
A local legend states that the lighthouse keeper's daughter fell in love with a sailor who never returned. She would wait for him at the lighthouse, and her sorrow is said to still echo in the wind. The lighthouse is situated on a plateau that rises 120 meters above sea level.
