Hague Tower, The Hague, Netherlands, Europe
The Hague Tower (Het Strijkijzer) is a 132-meter residential and commercial skyscraper located at Rijswijkseplein 78, near the Den Haag Hollands Spoor (HS) station.
Visual Characteristics
The building's floor plan is a sharp isosceles triangle, a design necessitated by the small, triangular plot of land it occupies. This shape resembles a clothing iron, giving it the local nickname "Het Strijkijzer". Its facade is dominated by glass and aluminum, with a glass elevator running up the exterior of the building to the panoramic decks.

Historical & Ecological Origin
Completed in 2007, the tower was inspired by the Flatiron Building in New York. It was designed by AAArchitecten and won the 2007 Emporis Skyscraper Award (Bronze). The building was primarily designed to provide high-quality housing for students and young professionals, maximizing vertical space on a previously underutilized traffic intersection.

Visibility: Check local weather reports; low cloud cover can completely obstruct the view from the top floors.
Facts & Legends
The Hague Tower is the tallest residential building in the city. A technical oddity of the building is its "wind-comfort" design; due to the sharp angles and height, specialized aerodynamic testing was required to ensure that wind speeds at ground level remained safe for pedestrians.
