Historical & Ecological Origin
Drvengrad was conceived and constructed by film director Emir Kusturica, beginning in 2002, as a set for his 2004 film "Life is a Miracle." Its original purpose was a film set, subsequently developed into a functional ethno-village and tourist complex. The Mokra Gora region is part of the Dinaric Alps, characterized by limestone and karst geological formations, with a rich biodiversity classified as a nature park.
