Roshen Fountain, Vinnytsia, Ukraine, Europe

Overview

The Multimedia Fountain Roshen, a dazzling centerpiece on the river in Vinnytsia, Ukraine, ranks among the largest floating multimedia fountains in all of Europe.Roshen Confectionery Corporation, one of Ukraine’s biggest candy makers, funded the project-a major social and cultural landmark-opened on September 4, 2011, with ribbons, speeches, and the smell of fresh caramel in the air.The fountain stands as a symbol of Vinnytsia’s modern spirit and vibrant culture, treating locals and visitors to a dazzling dance of water and light. It’s also a gathering spot for recreation and cultural events, set along the Southern Buh River where you can hear the water moving gently past. The fountain drifts on the Southern Buh River beside Festivalny Isle-locals still call it Campa Isle-right in the heart of Vinnytsia. From here, you can take in a sweeping view of the hills, and the spot’s just a short walk from the main path. The whole fountain system sits on a floating platform, stretching 97 meters long and 10 meters wide, big enough to feel like walking the length of a train car again and again. The massive floating platform carries every water jet, light, and projector, humming softly above the rippling surface. In winter, the fountain sinks below the surface, hiding under the cold water to keep ice and freezing winds from cracking its stone. This clever “hibernation technology” lets the fountain shut down safely when winter’s ice sets in, then start flowing again with the first warm days of spring. The fountain’s water jets range from slender streams to powerful bursts, shooting as high as 65 to 70 meters, with some fanning out nearly 140 meters wide in a shimmering arc.About 560 underwater LED lights glow beneath the surface, shifting through vibrant colors like ripples of blue and gold. The lights pulse in time with the music and projections, weaving together into a mesmerizing display that glows and shifts like ripples on water.Sound System: The fountain packs a 3,840-watt sound system that fills the air with crisp, rich audio-every note sharp enough to catch over the splash of the water.A massive water screen, stretching 16 meters high and 45 meters wide, becomes a canvas for 3D images, swirling animations, and vivid video, bringing the water and light show to life.At the Roshen Fountain, you can catch themed shows where water dances in time with music, lights flicker like fireflies, and vivid 3D images ripple across the spray. Most performances happen in the evening, when the lights shimmer brightest, though you can catch shorter, non-musical shows during the day.Crowds flock to favorites like Swan Lake Fantasy, a shimmering blend of water, light, and ballet that echoes the elegance of Tchaikovsky’s masterpiece. The Little Prince - inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s cherished tale, it brings the story to life with luminous, dreamlike images. The Nutcracker is a ballet-inspired performance, born from Tchaikovsky’s timeless score, with scenes that twirl like snowflakes in candlelight.Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 comes alive in a refined performance where soaring strings meet shimmering water and flickers of light.Vivaldi’s *The Four Seasons* comes alive in swirling water patterns and bursts of color, each movement echoing the rhythm of the changing weather.Ruslan and Lyudmila is a show drawn from Pushkin’s sweeping Russian romantic epic, where enchanted forests whisper and heroes ride into danger.Enya and Soulmate Waves bring a mix of contemporary and ambient sounds, the kind that drift like soft waves and fill the room with calm.Every show is crafted with precision, where water jets leap in time with shifting lights, music swells, and vivid projections weave a story or stir a feeling, drawing visitors into a rich, layered world. The fountain runs from spring through autumn, its water catching the sunlight on warm afternoons. We’re open from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM on weekdays-except Tuesday, when we start at 4:00-plus the same hours on weekends and public holidays. Most shows kick off after dusk, when the lights really stand out against the dark sky.Every half hour while we’re open, a quick water show kicks in-no music, just the splash and shimmer.Everyone gets in free-just walk through the doors. The Roshen Corporation donated the fountain to the community, and it’s kept sparkling clean at no cost to anyone. Most people catch the best view of the fountain from the embankment on Karmeliuka Street, from Festivalny Isle, or aboard a boat drifting down the river during special events. The Multimedia Fountain Roshen has grown into a symbol of Vinnytsia, lighting up the riverfront at night and drawing crowds of visitors from near and far. With its blend of cutting-edge engineering and vibrant multimedia artistry, it puts Vinnytsia firmly on the map for bold, eye-catching public entertainment-think dazzling lights dancing across the night sky.The fountain hosts special events and seasonal celebrations, drawing people together under its cool spray and creating a lively spot for locals and visitors to meet. The Multimedia Fountain Roshen blends technology, art, and nature into one striking show, with water catching the light like shards of glass.Picture a massive floating platform, towering water jets, and a wash of vibrant LED lights, all set to powerful surround sound and sweeping 3D projections.Themed shows blend classical and modern music, and it’s free-just stroll to the banks of the Southern Buh River in Vinnytsia and let the spectacle pull you in.
