The University of Kentucky Arboretum is a 135-acre botanical garden located on the University of Kentucky's campus in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Arboretum is situated south of the main University of Kentucky campus. Access is via University Drive from South Limestone. Parking is available in designated lots adjacent to the Arboretum, including Lot 18 and Lot 21. The Lexington Transit Authority bus route 21 stops near the Arboretum entrance on University Drive.

Established in 1991, the Arboretum was conceived as an outdoor laboratory and educational resource for the University of Kentucky's College of Agriculture, Food and Environment. It is designed to showcase plant diversity and provide research opportunities. Best Time to Visit

For optimal plant viewing, late spring (May-June) offers blooming flowers and lush foliage. Autumn (September-October) provides fall color displays. Mid-morning or late afternoon offers the best natural light for photography. No tide considerations apply.

The Arboretum houses a collection of Kentucky's state champion trees, recognized for their exceptional size and age. One specific oak tree is noted for its historical significance, believed to have been present before the university's founding.
