Location & Access Logistics
Cerro de la Cruz is located approximately 1.5 kilometers north of Antigua Guatemala's central park (Parque Central). Access is via Calle del Cerro de la Cruz, a paved road that leads to a parking area at the base of the hill. From the parking area, a stone staircase of approximately 300 steps ascends to the cross. Public transport does not directly reach the summit; taxis or tuk-tuks can drop visitors at the parking area. Walking from the city center takes approximately 20-30 minutes.

The cross was erected in 1600 by Father Juan de Rojas to commemorate the city's deliverance from earthquakes. The hill is part of the volcanic foothills surrounding Antigua Guatemala.
