The National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) is located in the Palau Nacional on Montjuïc hill. It is the primary institution for Catalan art, specifically renowned for its Romanesque mural painting collection, the most comprehensive in the world.
Visual Characteristics & The Palau Nacional
The Palau Nacional was built for the 1929 International Exhibition.
Architecture: Designed in a Spanish Renaissance-inspired classicist style, covering 32,000 square meters. It features a massive central elliptical dome and four perimeter towers.
The Oval Hall: One of the largest event spaces in Europe, it houses a monumental organ and serves as the museum's central hub.

General Admission: €12 (valid for two days within a month). Includes collection access and the Rooftop Viewpoints.
Free Admission: Saturdays after 15:00 and the first Sunday of every month. Free for visitors under 16 or over 65.
