Silverlake Vineyard, Pattaya, Thailand, Asia

Silverlake Vineyard is a large vineyard and tourist attraction located in the Bang Lamung District of Chonburi Province, Thailand, near Pattaya.

Visual Characteristics

The vineyard features rolling hills covered in grapevines. The central building, a winery and tasting room, is constructed with white stucco and red tile roofing, resembling a Mediterranean villa. The landscape includes a large reservoir, known as Silverlake Reservoir, surrounded by manicured gardens and pathways.

Location & Access Logistics

Silverlake Vineyard is situated approximately 20 kilometers southeast of Pattaya city center. Access is via Highway 331 (Sattahip-Chanthaburi Road). Turn off at the sign for Silverlake Vineyard. Parking is available on-site in designated lots. No direct public transport routes serve the vineyard; private vehicles or taxis are the primary means of access.

Historical & Ecological Origin

The vineyard was established in 2003 by a Thai businesswoman, Supansa Euarchukiati, who saw the potential for grape cultivation in the region. The land was previously undeveloped scrubland. The vineyard cultivates several grape varietals, including Shiraz, Chenin Blanc, and Colombard, adapted for the tropical climate.

Key Highlights & Activities

Visitors can participate in guided tours of the vineyard and winery. Wine tasting sessions are offered, featuring wines produced on-site. The grounds are suitable for walking and photography. The adjacent Silverlake Reservoir offers scenic views and is a popular spot for photos.

Infrastructure & Amenities

Restrooms are available within the main building. Shaded seating areas are provided throughout the grounds. Cell phone signal (4G/5G) is generally good. A restaurant and cafe are located on-site, offering food and beverages. Small shops sell wine and local products.

Best Time to Visit

The best time of day for photography is late afternoon, approximately 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, when the light is softer. The most favorable months for visiting are during the cooler, drier season, from November to February. Grape harvesting typically occurs between February and April.

Facts & Legends

A unique aspect of Silverlake Vineyard is its success in cultivating grapes in a tropical climate, which is typically challenging. The vineyard's establishment was inspired by the owner's vision to create a European-style wine region in Thailand.
