The University of Mitrovica "Isa Boletini" (UMIB) is a public higher education institution located in the western industrial zone of Mitrovica. It serves as a major regional center for technical and social sciences, situated approximately 85 kilometers northeast of Peja.

Public transport is available via local urban bus lines that connect the central bus station to the university gates. On-site parking is provided in a large asphalt lot adjacent to the main faculty buildings for students and staff.

Historical & Ecological Origin

The institution traces its origins back to the Technical Faculty founded in 1961 to support the Trepça mining complex. The university was formally established as an independent public institution in 2013 and moved to its current purpose-built campus in 2021. The site is situated on the flat alluvial plain between the Sitnica and Ibar rivers, formerly occupied by industrial support infrastructure.
