Visual Characteristics
The overlook consists of a concrete platform extending from the bridge's eastern abutment. It features a low concrete barrier wall and metal railings. The primary visual element is the expansive view of Biloxi Bay, the bridge structure itself, and the surrounding coastline. Paved walkways connect the parking area to the viewing platform.

A dedicated parking lot with approximately 20 spaces is available directly adjacent to the overlook. Public transport options are limited; the closest bus stop for the Coast Transit Authority (CTA) is located on U.S. Route 90, approximately 0.8 kilometers west of the overlook.
Historical & Ecological Origin
The Biloxi Bay Bridge was constructed in phases, with the current iteration completed in 2008 following Hurricane Katrina. The overlook was incorporated into the bridge's design to provide public access for viewing the bay. The area is ecologically significant as part of the Mississippi Sound estuary, supporting various marine and avian species.
Key Highlights & Activities
Observation of marine traffic on Biloxi Bay. Photography of the bridge and bay landscape. Birdwatching. Fishing from designated areas on the bridge (where permitted and safe).
Infrastructure & Amenities
Restrooms are not present at the overlook itself. Shade is minimal, provided only by the bridge structure during certain times of day. Cell phone signal (4G/5G) is generally strong. No food vendors are located directly at the overlook; options are available in the nearby city center.
Best Time to Visit
For photography, sunrise offers direct light on the eastern coastline, while sunset provides light on the western side of the bay. The months of March through May and September through November generally offer mild weather conditions. Tidal changes can affect the visible water depth and shoreline, but do not restrict access to the overlook.
Facts & Legends
During the construction of the original Biloxi Bay Bridge in the 1960s, workers reported encountering large, unidentified submerged objects in the bay, leading to local folklore about shipwrecks and submerged structures. The current bridge is designed to withstand hurricane-force winds and storm surge.
