Coco Beach is a 0.5km stretch of coastline situated on the western side of Antigua, within the Jolly Harbour development.
Visual Characteristics
The beach features fine, light-tan sand. The water exhibits a clear, turquoise coloration. The shoreline is bordered by a moderate density of coconut palm trees and low-lying coastal vegetation. The beach is relatively flat with a gentle slope into the sea.
Location & Access Logistics
Coco Beach is located within the Jolly Harbour marina complex on the west coast of Antigua. Access is via the main road into Jolly Harbour, then following signs for the beach. Parking is available in designated lots adjacent to the beach, with capacity for approximately 50 vehicles. Public transport to Jolly Harbour is limited; however, taxis are readily available from St. John's, approximately 15km to the east.

Coco Beach is a natural sandy beach formed by the deposition of marine sediments over geological time. The coconut palms are a common feature of Caribbean coastal ecosystems. The beach is part of the wider coastal shelf of Antigua.
Key Highlights & Activities
Swimming is possible in calm conditions. Sunbathing is a primary activity. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available from vendors located at the beach. Snorkeling is feasible in the shallow waters directly offshore.

Restrooms are located at the northern end of the beach. Shade is provided by natural tree cover and some rented umbrellas. Cell phone signal (4G) is generally strong. Food and beverage services are available from a small beach bar situated near the parking area.
Best Time to Visit
For photography, early morning (07:00-09:00) offers soft, direct sunlight. Midday provides the clearest water visibility. The dry season, from December to May, offers the most consistent pleasant weather. High tide is not a significant factor for beach access.
Facts & Legends
The beach is named for the abundance of coconut palms lining its edge. A local anecdote suggests that finding a perfectly intact double coconut on the beach is a sign of good luck.
