Orapa Game Park is located approximately 15 kilometers west of Letlhakane. Access is via the A3 road, turning off onto a gravel track signposted for the park entrance. The gravel track is approximately 5 kilometers long. Parking is available at the main entrance gate. No public transport services operate directly to the park; private vehicles are required.

Historical & Ecological Origin

The park was established to protect the local fauna, particularly the gemsbok and springbok populations, which were historically threatened by habitat loss and poaching. It is classified as a savanna ecosystem, typical of the Kalahari region.

Self-drive game viewing is the primary activity. Visitors can observe various antelope species, including gemsbok, springbok, hartebeest, and impala. Birdwatching is also possible. There are designated picnic areas within the park.

Orapa Game Park is situated adjacent to the Orapa Diamond Mine, one of the largest diamond mines in the world. The park's establishment was partly influenced by the need to conserve wildlife in an area undergoing significant industrial development.
