Timothy Hill is situated approximately 12 kilometers southeast of Basseterre. Access is via the main southeastern peninsula road, which is paved and well-maintained. The drive from Basseterre takes approximately 20-25 minutes. Parking is available in a designated, unpaved lot at the summit, which can accommodate approximately 20-30 vehicles. Public transport to Timothy Hill is limited; taxis are the most common method of access. There are no direct bus routes to the summit.

The hill's elevation is a result of volcanic activity that formed the island of Saint Kitts. The cleared area at the summit was developed as a tourist viewpoint. The surrounding ecosystem is a tropical dry forest, adapted to the island's climate.

For photography, the late afternoon (approximately 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM) offers favorable lighting conditions with the sun positioned to illuminate the western side of the peninsula. The best months for weather are generally from December to May, which constitute the dry season. There are no tide-dependent activities at this location.
Facts & Legends
A local anecdote suggests that on exceptionally clear days, one can see the island of Saba in the distance from Timothy Hill. The viewpoint is a popular stop for cruise ship excursions.
