The site is located at Daxnerova 2, situated directly within the city's pedestrian zone. It is 0.4km north of the Slovak Chamber Theatre and roughly a 10-minute walk from the central bus station. Vehicle access is restricted on Daxnerova Street; visitors typically use the public parking lots on Kohútova or Hviezdoslavova streets, both within 300 meters.

Historical & Ecological Origin

The "County House" is the oldest building in Martin, with its earliest sections dating back over 300 years. It was originally an L-shaped Renaissance structure that was expanded into a U-shape in 1772 when Martin became the seat of Turiec County. After sustaining damage in the fires of 1843 and 1881, it was reconstructed into its current rectangular form. The Turčianska Gallery has been headquartered here since 1983.

The permanent exhibition, "Legenda – la ganda – Galanda," is the primary highlight, focusing on the life and work of Mikuláš Galanda, a pioneer of Slovak modern art.
