The beach features light beige sand with a fine grain. The water exhibits a gradient of turquoise and aquamarine hues, becoming deeper blue further from shore. The shoreline is approximately 1.5 kilometers in length and is bordered by low-lying vegetation, primarily sea grape and coconut palms.

Location & Access Logistics

Xanadu Beach is situated approximately 5 kilometers east of downtown Freeport. Access is via East Sunrise Highway, turning north onto Xanadu Road. Public parking is available in a designated lot at the western end of the beach. Bus route #1 (East End) stops at the intersection of East Sunrise Highway and Xanadu Road, requiring a short walk to the beach.

Historical & Ecological Origin

The beach is a natural formation, part of the Bahamian archipelago's extensive coral reef system. The sand is composed of eroded coral and shell fragments. The coastal vegetation is typical of a subtropical maritime environment.

Swimming is permitted. Sunbathing is a primary activity. Beachcombing for shells is possible. Kayak and paddleboard rentals are available from vendors during peak season.
