Golf Courses

Firestone Country Club features three 18-hole championship courses, each offering a unique golfing experience:

South Course

Opened in 1929, redesigned in 1960 by famed architect Robert Trent Jones Sr.

Par 70, approximately 7,400 yards long.

Known as “The Monster,” this course is highly challenging with long holes, deep bunkers, and fast greens.

Famous for hosting prestigious events such as the PGA Championship (1960, 1966, 1975) and the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational from 1999 to 2018.

Legendary golfers including Arnold Palmer, Tiger Woods, and Jack Nicklaus have competed here.

North Course

Designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. in 1969.

Par 72, about 7,125 yards in length.

Features water hazards, rolling terrain, and strategically placed bunkers.

Has hosted professional tournaments like the American Golf Classic and the World Series of Golf.

Fazio Course

Formerly known as the West Course, extensively redesigned by Tom Fazio in 2021.

Par 70, approximately 6,904 yards.

Designed with a links-style layout featuring wide fairways and naturalistic bunkering.

Currently hosts the Ohio Senior Open and offers a slightly less demanding but highly enjoyable round.

Tournaments and Legacy

Firestone Country Club has played a major role in professional golf for nearly a century.

It hosted three PGA Championships in the 1960s and 1970s, cementing its reputation on the national stage.

From 1999 to 2018, it was the home of the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational, attracting top players from around the globe.

Currently, it hosts the Kaulig Companies Championship, a PGA Tour Champions event showcasing senior professional golfers.

The course has been nicknamed “The Monster” because of its demanding layout, particularly the South Course.
