Opened on January 30, 2009, the memorial house was designed by architect Vangel Božinovski. The project was part of the city's effort to honor Anjezë Gonxhe Bojaxhiu, who was born in Skopje in 1910. The site is geographically located on the flat terrain of the Vardar River valley, integrated into the dense urban fabric of the capital's historical and commercial core.
