The Piscine Naturelle is a natural freshwater rock pool fed by a small waterfall, located within Isalo-national-park_isalo" class="underline">Isalo National Park in Madagascar.

It is a geological formation characterized by clear, cool water with a greenish tint, contained within smooth, reddish-brown sandstone cliffs. Lush tropical vegetation, including pandanus and palm trees, overhangs the pool, providing natural shade. A waterfall cascades from a height of approximately 3 meters into the main basin.

The Piscine Naturelle is situated approximately 3km from the main entrance of Isalo National Park, near Ranohira. Access requires a hike of about 1.5 hours from the park entrance, following a designated trail. Parking for private vehicles is available at the park entrance. Public transport to the park entrance is via taxi-brousse (shared taxi) from Ranohira.

This natural pool is a geological formation resulting from the erosion of the Jurassic sandstone massif that characterizes Isalo National Park. Water flow over millennia has carved the basin and surrounding rock formations. The area is classified as a sandstone canyon ecosystem.

The best time to visit is during the dry season, from April to October, when trails are less muddy and water levels are stable. Early morning or late afternoon offers softer light for photography and avoids peak crowds.

The water in the Piscine Naturelle is considered sacred by the local Bara people, who sometimes perform rituals here. It is advisable to wear sturdy walking shoes for the approach hike, as the terrain can be uneven.
