Church of Our Lady of Remedy | Kotor

The Church of Our Lady of Remedy (Gospa od Zdravlja) is a 16th-century Roman Catholic church situated on the slopes of Mount Lovćen. It is a primary landmark on the ascent to the San Giovanni Fortress.

Its most prominent feature is a Baroque-style bell tower with a pyramid-shaped roof, which serves as a vertical focal point against the mountain backdrop. The church was built in 1518 by survivors of the plague as a gesture of gratitude for the end of the epidemic. It is constructed on a narrow limestone ledge. The surrounding terrain is characterized by sparse Mediterranean scrub and steep karst rock faces.
