Location & Access Logistics
Field Point Beach is situated on the eastern side of Grand Exuma. Access is via Queen's Highway, turning onto a gravel track approximately 18 kilometers east of Georgetown. The track is unpaved and can be rough; a 4WD vehicle is recommended. Parking is available on the sand at the beach access point. No public transport services this specific location.
Historical & Ecological Origin
The beach is a natural formation, composed of sediment derived from the erosion of coral reefs and shells over millennia. It is part of the Bahamian archipelago's extensive shallow-water marine ecosystem.
Key Highlights & Activities
Beachcombing is possible along the shoreline. Swimming is permitted in calm conditions. The shallow waters are suitable for wading. Observation of local birdlife is also an activity.
Infrastructure & Amenities

Best Time to Visit
For photography, early morning or late afternoon provides optimal lighting conditions due to the sun's angle. The dry season, from December to May, generally offers the most favorable weather with lower humidity and less rainfall. High tide can reduce the visible sand area.
Facts & Legends
Local folklore suggests that the clarity of the water at Field Point Beach is due to the presence of ancient underwater springs, though this is unverified.
