The resort features two main towers, Atlantis, The Palm and Atlantis The Royal, connected by a bridge. The architecture incorporates classical Greek and Arabian design elements. The main tower stands at approximately 43 stories, with the Royal tower reaching higher. The complex includes extensive landscaping, water features, and a large artificial beach.

Atlantis, The Palm is situated at the eastern end of Palm Jumeirah. Access is via Palm Jumeirah Road, which connects to Sheikh Zayed Road (E11). The resort is approximately 35 kilometers east of Dubai International Airport (DXB). On-site parking is available for guests and day visitors, with multi-level parking structures. The Palm Monorail has a station at the Atlantis Aquaventure entrance, providing public transport access from the mainland Gateway station.

Atlantis, The Palm opened in September 2008. It was developed by Kerzner International Holdings. The resort's design concept is inspired by the legend of the lost city of Atlantis. The construction involved significant land reclamation and engineering to create the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah.
