Construction of Jumeirah Mosque commenced in 1976 and was completed in 1978. It was built under the directive of the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. The mosque was designed to emulate the architectural style of medieval Fatimid mosques.

Guided tours of the mosque are offered daily, except Fridays. These tours provide information on Islamic faith and local customs. Photography is permitted within designated areas during tour times.
