Access is via the A1 highway heading west from Gaborone. Turn north onto the unpaved road signposted for Bahurutshe Cultural Village, approximately 12 kilometers from the city center. The final 3 kilometers are unpaved. Limited parking is available on-site. No public transport directly serves the village; private vehicle or taxi is required.

The village is a reconstruction of traditional Bahurutshe settlements, designed to preserve and showcase Tswana cultural heritage. It is not an ancient site but a contemporary representation of historical living practices. The ecological setting is characteristic of the Kalahari sandveld biome.
