Historical & Ecological Origin
Ulu Temburong National Park was established in 1991 to protect Brunei's primary rainforest. The canopy walkway was constructed to facilitate scientific research and ecotourism, allowing observation of the rainforest ecosystem from above without disturbing the ground level. The area is classified as lowland dipterocarp forest, a globally significant biome.

Restrooms are available at the Ulu Temburong National Park headquarters. Shade is provided by the rainforest canopy itself. Cell phone signal is generally absent within the park. Food vendors are not present within the national park; visitors typically bring their own provisions or arrange meals through tour operators.
Best Time to Visit
The best time of day for observing wildlife is typically early morning or late afternoon. The dry season, from March to September, generally offers more favorable weather conditions for trekking and boat travel. There are no tide-dependent restrictions for accessing the walkway.
Facts & Legends
The canopy walkway was designed to minimize its impact on the forest, with its support structures carefully integrated around existing trees. A specific tip for visitors is to wear insect repellent, as mosquitoes and other biting insects are present in the humid environment.
