Public transport options are limited; local buses that travel between Trashigang and other western districts may stop in Khaling, but schedules are infrequent.

The Khaling Weaving Center was established in 1975 by the Royal Government of Bhutan as part of a broader initiative to support rural livelihoods and conserve traditional crafts. Its purpose is to provide training and employment for local women in weaving, ensuring the continuation of Bhutanese textile heritage.

Visitors can observe weavers at work on traditional backstrap looms. Demonstrations of the weaving process are available. A specific type of red thread, known as "Tshem-dhar," is traditionally used in Khaling textiles and is believed by some local artisans to impart protective qualities to the wearer.
