Ample parking is available in designated lots. Public transport options include the Streamline Bus Service, with Route 2 serving the area, with a stop near the park entrance.

Historical & Ecological Origin

The site was formerly the location of the Story Mill, a grain processing facility that operated from the late 19th century until the mid-20th century. The park's development involved extensive ecological restoration, including re-establishing native plant communities and improving riverine habitat. The constructed wetland was designed to manage stormwater and provide wildlife habitat.

Best Time to Visit

For photography, early morning and late afternoon offer optimal lighting. The best months for outdoor activities are May through October, with July and August being the warmest. Spring and fall provide opportunities for observing migratory birds.

Facts & Legends

A unique feature of the park is the preservation of remnants of the original Story Mill foundation, integrated into the landscape as historical markers. Local lore suggests the East Gallatin River was once a primary route for early settlers transporting grain.
