The site is located within Confluence Park, a reclaimed industrial area at the junction of the South Platte River and Cherry Creek, which has been redeveloped into a public park and recreational space.

Key Highlights & Activities

Activities include interactive exhibits focused on science, art, and culture. Specific areas include the "Great Hall" with a climbing structure, "Art Studio" for creative projects, "Water Ways" for water play, and "Energy Explorers" for physics concepts. Outdoor exhibits are seasonal. Educational programs and workshops are offered regularly.

Restrooms are available throughout the facility. Shaded areas are provided in outdoor exhibit spaces and via awnings. Cell phone signal (4G/5G) is generally strong within the museum and surrounding park. Food vendors are not present within the museum, but a cafe is located on-site. Vending machines are also available.

Best Time to Visit

Weekdays, particularly Tuesday through Thursday, generally have lower attendance. Mornings, from opening until 11:00 AM, offer a less crowded experience. The outdoor water play area is operational from late spring through early fall, typically May to September, during daylight hours.

Facts & Legends

The museum's "Fire Truck" exhibit is a retired Denver Fire Department vehicle that children can climb on and explore. The museum's location in Confluence Park is significant as it marks the historical founding site of Denver.
