The East Slovak Museum is a neo-Renaissance museum building located at the northern end of Hlavná ulica in Košice, Slovakia. Established in 1872, it serves as one of the oldest and most significant cultural institutions in the country, housing extensive historical and natural history collections.

The primary building features a symmetrical neo-Renaissance facade with a prominent central portico, stone balustrades, and a decorative tympanum containing sculptural reliefs. The structure is built from brick and stone with a light-colored stucco finish and a dark slate mansard roof. The interior is organized around a grand central staircase leading to high-ceilinged exhibition halls with parquet flooring and ornate plasterwork.

The museum is situated at Námestie Maratónu mieru 2, approximately 0.8km north of St. Elisabeth Cathedral. It is directly adjacent to a major public transport hub; tram lines 2, 4, 6, 9, and R3 stop at the "Námestie Maratónu mieru" station. While on-site parking is restricted to staff, public paid parking is available on the nearby Strojárenská and Gorkého streets.

The main representative building was constructed between 1901 and 1903 based on designs by architects Arpád and Gejza Jakab. It was specifically commissioned to house the collections of the Upper Hungarian Museum Society. The institution was founded to preserve the regional history of Upper Hungary, focusing on archeology, numismatics, and art history.

The Košice Gold Treasure found within the city is one of the richest finds of its kind in the world, containing coins from eighty different European mints. A local "secret" is the operational historical library within the building, which contains rare manuscripts and incunabula that are accessible to researchers by appointment.
