The Singapore Sports Hub is situated approximately 5 kilometers east of the Central Business District. Access is primarily via Stadium Drive, which connects to Nicoll Highway and the Pan Island Expressway (PIE). The Kallang MRT station (East-West Line) is directly connected to the Hub. Several bus routes serve the area, including routes 11, 196, and 401. Parking is available in multi-storey car parks within the complex, with capacity for over 2,000 vehicles.
Historical & Ecological Origin
The site was previously occupied by the old National Stadium, which was demolished to make way for the new Sports Hub. Construction of the Singapore Sports Hub commenced in 2010 and was completed in 2015. The project was designed by a consortium led by DP Architects and was built with the intention of creating a world-class, integrated sports and entertainment destination for Singapore.
