Porto Montenegro is a luxury yacht marina and residential village located on the Tivat waterfront. Built on the site of the former Austro-Hungarian "Arsenal" naval shipyard, it serves as a primary Mediterranean hub for superyachts.

The complex features a refined architectural aesthetic blending traditional Mediterranean stonework with modern glass and steel. It includes multiple concrete piers, wide palm-lined boulevards, and low-rise residential buildings finished in cream-colored plaster with clay-tiled roofs. The marina basin is characterized by exceptionally deep berths and clear water, often containing vessels exceeding 100 meters in length.

Location & Access Logistics

The site is situated in the central urban zone of Tivat, 3 kilometers from Tivat International Airport (TIV). Primary vehicle access is via the E65 Adriatic Highway. Pedestrian access is continuous from the Pine Embankment (Riva Pine). Managed underground and surface parking lots are located throughout the complex. The marina provides customs and immigration clearance for international maritime arrivals.

Historical & Ecological Origin

The site functioned as a strategic military naval base and shipyard from 1889 until its decommissioning in 2006. The transformation into a commercial marina was initiated by Canadian businessman Peter Munk. Geologically, it sits on a reclaimed section of the Tivat Bay coastal plain at the base of the Vrmac Ridge.

The marina features some of the deepest berths in the world, specifically engineered to accommodate the largest mega-yachts currently in operation. A historical artifact within the complex is the original shipyard crane, preserved as a monument to the site's industrial past.
