Visual Characteristics
The museum is housed in a converted 19th-century grain warehouse on the harbor, known as the "Powerhouse." Its most distinctive feature is a modern, cube-shaped addition on top, clad in glass panels. These panels are equipped with LED lights that display dynamic patterns and images, often related to music history, making the building a prominent visual landmark on the Trondheim waterfront.

Rockheim is situated at Brattørkaia 14, approximately 1 kilometer north of Trondheim city center. It is a 10-15 minute walk from Trondheim Central Station and the main bus terminal. Limited paid parking is available in the immediate vicinity, including an underground parking garage at Brattørkaia. Several local bus lines, including routes 1, 2, 10, and 12, have stops within a 200-meter radius, such as the "Pirterminalen" stop.
Historical & Ecological Origin
