The Balchik Palace (officially the "Dvoretsa" Architectural Park) is a former summer residence of Queen Marie of Romania. Note: It is located in Balchik, approximately 40 km north of Varna, not within Varna city.

The complex is characterized by an eclectic architectural style that blends Balkan, Oriental, and Mediterranean influences. It features white stone villas with red-tiled roofs, a small Orthodox chapel ("Stella Maris"), and a distinctive minaret. The palace is integrated into the University Botanical Garden, which descends in terraces toward the Black Sea.

Access from Varna: A 45-minute drive via the E87 road. Frequent regional buses connect Varna Bus Station to Balchik.

Parking: Paid parking lots are available near the upper and lower entrances of the complex.
Historical & Cultural Origin
Built between 1924 and 1936, the palace was commissioned by Queen Marie during the period when the Southern Dobruja region was part of Romania. The Queen, a follower of the Baháʼí Faith, intended the site to be a place of religious and cultural synthesis. Following the return of the territory to Bulgaria in 1940, the site became a state-owned museum.
