Pljevlja Park, commonly referred to as the City Park or Vodice Park, is a major urban green space located along the Breznica River in Pljevlja. It serves as the primary recreational hub for the town, integrating natural river landscapes with manicured gardens and historical structures.

The park is characterized by dense stands of century-old coniferous and deciduous trees, including black pine, spruce, and linden. It features a network of paved and gravel walking paths that follow the course of the Breznica River. The landscape includes stone-lined riverbanks, small wooden bridges, and open grassy meadows used for public gatherings.

The park is situated approximately 0.4km north of the town center. The main entrance is located on Ulica Kralja Petra I, adjacent to the Ada Sports Center. Public parking is available in the large lot serving the sports complex and along the perimeter roads. Most visitors access the site on foot from the central pedestrian zone.

Historical & Ecological Origin

The park was developed in the early 20th century, with significant expansion and landscaping occurring during the socialist period to provide a "green lung" for the industrial town. It is fed by the Vodice springs, which are high-capacity karst springs that maintain a constant flow into the Breznica River throughout the year.

Walking, jogging, and cycling are the primary activities on the extensive trail system. The park contains a large children's playground and outdoor fitness equipment. Visitors can view the Old Pljevlja Mill and several smaller water-driven mechanisms. The river sections within the park are utilized for recreational fly fishing.

The park features public restrooms, numerous wooden benches, and stone drinking fountains connected to the spring water system. The best time for photography is during the morning hours when the light filters through the dense tree canopy and mist often rises from the cold Breznica River. Facts & Legends

The park is home to a specific "secret" spot known as the Jezero (Lake), a small reservoir where the town's elderly residents traditionally gather for chess and social interaction. A verified historical oddity is that the park was partially built on the site of former Ottoman-era orchards, some of whose fruit trees still remain integrated into the forest today.
